Similar to platinum engagement rings, a variety of finishes can be given to the wedding band surface. Combinations of several finishes create unique textures and looks. Six basic finishes to consider are:
Polished
A high shine surface achieved with polishing brushes and emery powder.
Matte or Brushed
A smooth look achieved with wire brush polishing.
Satin
Also a brushed finish, but with finer texture than matte.
Stone
Coarse brush finish with a more rugged look.
Hammer
Formally known as 'repouse', this hammered texture gives the ring a classic hand wrought appearance.
Cross Peine
A hammered finish where the hatchment of lines flow around, across or diagonally over the surface.
